MARGARET-ANN ARMOUR
UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA

  Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour is the Assistant Chair of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.  She is also the chair of the Department Safety Committee and coordinator of the Industrial Internship Program.  She is currently involved in the research group working on the handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.

  Dr. Armour received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Masters of Science in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh.  She finished her doctorate degree in Physical Organic Chemistry at the University of Alberta in 1970.

  Dr. Armour was awarded the Alberta Environment Award for outstanding contributions to the Environment of Alberta particularly for her work on the disposal of hazardous wastes.  She was appointed to the board of the Pacific Basin Consortium last December 2001.
