DR. PETCHPORN CHAWAKITCHAREON

Dr. Petchporn Chawakitchareon is an Associate Professor at the Environmental Engineering Department and Head of the Hazardous Waste Laboratory at the Chulalongkorn University. She is a member of the Executive Committee of Environmental Engineering association of Thailand. Dr. Chawakitchareon was appointed to the board of the Pacific Basin Consortium last April 2000.

Relevant experience includes academic teaching, research and consultancy on:

• Wastewater treatment
• Hazardous waste treatment and management
• Solidification/stabilization of hazardous waste
• Environmental biotechnology

Dr. Chawakitchareon has published numerous technical papers and is the co-author of the book entitled "Simplify Laboratory Manual for Wastewater Analysis" which was published by the Environmental Engineers Association of Thailand in June, 1993.151p.(inThai).

Dr. Chawakitchareon received her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Entpe - Lyon I, France in 1990 and D.E.A. in Water Treatment Engineering in 1987 from INSA, Toulouse, France. She finished her M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Mahidol University in 1984.
