Prof. Liu Peizhe is the Technical Director of Waste Management Asia, a US-based environmental consulting company. As a professor of Tsinghua University, he is also currently the Deputy Director of three distinguished research organizations in China, namely, the Environmental Engineering Committee of the China Society of Environmental Sciences, China Research Society of Environmental Science and Technology Management, and the China Society of Toxicology. He is the former Director General of the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21 (ACCA 21).

Prof. Liu's specialization and interest are on environment and development, treatment and disposal of solid waste such as landfill of hazardous waste, reutilization and minimization of waste, water pollution control such as treatment of electroplating wastewater, study on environmental policy and sustainable development.

Prof. Liu has published numerous technical papers and has received awards for his researches on "Treatment of Chromium Waste by Ion-Exchange Technique", "The Investigation of Pesticide Pollution in Food" and the "Handbook for Quality Assurance of Water Environmental Monitoring". Prof. Liu is listed in the Thesaurus of Chinese Famous Engineers and Thesaurus of Chinese Famous Scientist and Technologists.
