DR. GENANDRIALINE L. PERALTA

University of the Philippines

Dr. Genandrialine Peralta is the current Executive Secretary of the Pacific Basin Consortium. She is an Associate Professor at the Environmental Engineering Division of the University of the Philippines. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Toronto and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from University of the Philippines.

Her areas of interest and specialization includes the following:

• Solid and hazardous waste management
• Leaching and acid mine drainage potential
• Environmental and health impact assessment
• Environmental modelling
• Energy and the environment
• Water quality monitoring and control
• Women’s issues in health and environment

Prior to joining the University of the Philippines, Dr. Peralta worked with the Environmental Management Bureau, a national government agency under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources charged with formulating environmental policies, reviewing environmental impact statements, undertaking environmental research and promotion and conducting training.

Dr. Peralta served as consultant to a number of organizations including the World Health Organization, International Atomic Energy Agency, Philippine Airlines, USTDA/Argonne National Laboratory, Asian Development Bank, USAID, National Power Corporation, and Philippine Geothermal Inc.
