During the regular meeting held last December 5,2001,the Pacific Basin Consortium on Hazardous Waste: Environmental and Health Studies has elected to its board new members to further strengthen representation from other countries in the Pacific Rim. Those elected were Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour from the University of Alberta, Canada, Dr. Enri Damanhuri from Institut Teknologi Bandung in Indonesia and Dr. Hiroshi Takatsuki from Kyoto University in Japan.

The PBC board is now composed of representatives from USA, Japan, Canada, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, China and Papua New Guinea.
